Founded in 1973, in the Province of Québec, Canada, by the late Swiss-born Josef Elsener, a prolific inventor, whose family lineage included the designers of the Victorinox Swiss Army knife and Lesley Rust, with a background in theatre administration and advertising, Proparms became Canada’s leading special effects weaponry and specialized properties company.

In 1978, Elsener designed the 20mm Neutrex Waterjet Disrupter for the Sûreté du Québec which Rust and her close associates later introduced to the wider North American and global markets, together with specialized ammunition and projectiles and a wide range of EOD/IEDD tools.

Our goal is the safety of our client and his or her needs.

The company has introduced many innovations to the world’s EOD/IEDD military and police markets, including: long distance 3 metre (10 ft.) standoff by laser precision aiming, 98% proven recoilless disrupters, including lightweight titanium models, Wizard Recoilless which can successfully decap a pipe bomb with watershot only, One Shot Disposable disrupter, RAM® and RIB disrupter tools, and customized ammunition and projectiles.

Proparms Ltd.’s Canadian head office is ISO 9001:2015 certified. The company consistently strives to achieve and maintain very high standards, both in product design and manufacture.

The company’s R&D programme is client-focused and, in the past and more recently, has been in association with robot and other industry partners of long-standing.

Behind the products is the highly trained and dedicated Proparms team, including expert technical and training support and a global agent network.

The founders’ vision and passion remains clear: “Our goal is the safety of our client and his or her needs.”
